  3. Cut the jargon – When you know a lot about your industry it’s easy to fall into the habit of using jargon, but your website needs to be accessible to everyone. If you’re not sure, get a friend to take a look to make sure it’s clear to the layperson.
  4. Use multimedia – Incorporating multimedia into your site is an excellent way to increase engagement. A short video on a product page, for example, has been shown to significantly increase sales.
  5. Have strong copy – Every word on your site needs to have a purpose. Even something as simple as using the words ‘add to cart’ instead of ‘buy now’ on your call to action buttons can have a huge impact on the user.
